Instructions for Sworn Peace Officer Applicants


If you are interested in becoming a sworn peace officer with the City of Cordele Police Department, there are several steps that must be taken. Below is a list of instructions for filling out the application and submitting it with the required documentation. Links with further information and forms that are required to complete the application process can be found in the list on the right side of the page: 


  • 1. Familiarize yourself with the Application Process (first link) 
  • 2. Complete the online City of Cordele Sworn Peace Officer Application ("Apply Online Now")
  • 3. Attach and Submit all Required Documents along with your Application.
  • 4. Once all of the documents are completed, you will have the opportunity to download and keep a copy of the application for yourself.  This is entirely optional.

Any of the above listed examination can be administered at any college or university. Each applicant should be prepared to present documentation supporting the successful completion of their examination
